Gooooooood Monday morning! It’s the start of a new week, and a new chance to be happier and more grateful. We think that’s awesome! In fact, we used to hate it when there was a pop quiz first thing Monday morning at school, but this is the kind of pop quiz we think you’ll love. Ready?
Quick! Think of one specific something you’re grateful to have in your life right now.
Pencils down. Did it come to you quickly? Did you really have to think about it? Focusing on the things for which we’re grateful—no matter how small—is one of the ways we can train our brains to be happier. Neat, right?
Cliche though it may be, I’m grateful for the Internet, and the easy access it gives me to things that can make me smile no matter what’s going on in my life. Here’s a few things that I have bookmarked to make me smile when I need to:
- I’m grateful for fathers like Tyrese Gibson, who’s doing his best to raise a confident daughter. (Video! Sound! But if you have the time/space to watch it, it’s adorable.)
- I’m pretty sure that everything hilarious happens on Tumblr. My two latest favorites are The Worst Cat and It’s Like They Know Us.
- I turn to my dogs when I need a pick-me-up. If they’re not available, I watch this video of dogs eating peanut butter in slow motion. Makes me laugh every single time.
