Most of us tend to think of stress as a bad thing. We complain about it and try to avoid it if we can. But there is some new research showing how you look at stress has a huge impact on how you’re affected by it. If you can look at stress more positively it can result in actually feeling less stressed.
In one study employees who watched a video on the benefits of stress reported “significant reduction in stress-related physical symptoms (such as headaches, backaches, fatigue) and a significant improvement in a productivity assessment, increasing from 1.9 to 2.6 on a four-point scale.” Employees who watched a video on negative impacts of stress did not report these improvements.
Lesson learned: Try not to stress about being stressed.
